Unmanned Systems

The Guild Associates, Inc. staff has over 25 years of experience developing field-ready military and industrial systems. This experience has established a diverse foundation of engineers and scientists, well-prepared to surmount many military and industrial challenges. Unmanned systems are an exciting and blossoming area of interest for government and industry. Although unmanned systems are still in their infancy, technology continues to mature, presenting novel opportunities for advancement and innovative ideas. Because Guild's past experience spans the gamut from basic research to deployed systems, we are exceptionally adept at moving with the pace of innovation.

Unmanned Aircraft VehicleEach unmanned system development effort takes on it own personality. For instance, an effort may seek to develop a system for an entirely new application that warrants a ground-up development approach. Conversely, an effort may require only a platform in which to integrate and test a new sensor technology. Regardless, Guild has made it a point to be well-prepared for the dynamic nature of the unmanned system marketplace.  As new technology matures, sensors, power technology, power topologies, mission managers, cooperative algorithms, autopilots, airframes, propulsion systems, communications, information management systems, and various other subsystems will present opportunities to advance unmanned system capabilities. Consequently, as Guild has developed unmanned systems, we have continually sought to preserve two themes - versatility and autonomy. Versatility serves to preserve the application of new technology. It lends itself to adaption and scalability and generally produces robust solutions. Therefore, Guild develops each unmanned system or system technology (hardware and/or software) carefully evaluating decisions that affect future integration and/or adaption options.

Secondly, Guild believes autonomy will play a critical role in developing new unmanned system technology. As the world is populated with new unmanned /robotic systems, the manner and level at which these systems interact with their environment and other agents (both manned and unmanned) becomes increasingly non-trivial and yet crucial for proper integration. Therefore, Guild has sought early on to develop and be a part of development efforts aimed at making unmanned system SUDAMaD UAVsinteraction less burdensome. This includes advancements to User Interfaces as well as autonomous algorithms and heuristics to elicit appropriate behaviors for specific circumstances. Furthermore, it will become increasingly important to manage unmanned systems through direction as opposed to laborious direct manual control. This requires that the appropriate information is delivered to the right place, in the right format, at the right time. It will be critical to command a complex behavior and expect a repeatable, reliable and desired result. All this interaction with humans and the environment, as well as the implied integration with human disposition, dictate a more autonomous system and represents a cornerstone of Guild's unmanned system development perspective.

Finally, in our 25+ years we have developed an extensive set of industry and military contacts that allow us to expand our capabilities as needed. We are continually seeking new opportunities to collaborate in developing more robust and capable unmanned systems and unmanned system technologies. Whether you are looking to develop a new and innovative application or need a platform to test a new sensor technology, Guild is prepared to make your unmanned system vision a reality.
