Research
and development services have been integral to Guild
Associates’ corporate charter since its formation in 1981. As
one of the very early companies to participate in the Small Business
Innovation Research (SBIR) program, Guild has been a frequent and
active winner in solicitations organized by the Department of Defense
(DoD), the National Institute of Health (NIH), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Education (DoEd).
Guild’s expertise centers on separation and reactive science,
and the engineering implementation of those disciplines. One common
theme in Guild’s projects is the intelligent use of
electronics to accomplish scientific and engineering goals. Because of
its modest beginning, Guild engineers learned early how to utilize the
burgeoning electronic developments to, as in the old engineering maxim,
“accomplish for fifty cents what any fool can do with a
dollar”. As electronic capabilities have grown, Guild has
sharpened these skills and expanded their breadth. In its traditional
fields of adsorption and reactive research and development, Guild
technologists can now apply unique research equipment to provide
unprecedented insight into functional process operations.
As early as 1984, Guild participated in broader DoD research and
development programs. Those activities have flourished as
Guild’s reputation for innovative ideas, parsimonious project
management and frank reporting of program status has filtered from
agency to agency.
More recently, Guild has developed a series
of industrial collaborations that build on our expertise in adsorption
and reactive technologies, allied with system and engineering design.
It is fair to say that Guild’s industrial partners are
frequently amazed at the sophistication that Guild’s staff
bring to a problem solving. The enthusiasm and commitment of
Guild’s people is not lost on these allies either.
Guild uses ISO 9001 compliant quality
assurance system to meet its standards.
